Finding replacements was very hard, so decided to go the route of using these mounts with separately purchased speakers. Downfall of this is loosing the “LED” lights we had in our old speakers, but honestly, we never really used them and I hated the blue color of the LEDs anyway, so maybe that’s a good thing.Firstly, price. These two pieces of plastic are overpriced for what they are in my opinion, but there are not many options otherwise, so I will leave it to supply and demand I guess. However, I am from Canada and while these were available of Amazon.ca, it was cheaper to buy them on Amazon.com and pay import fees to Canada by a good $10 Canadian. The price on Amazon was similar to another US based online seller as well. That all said, plastic is fairly thick so did not feel flimsy.On receiving the housings, one speaker had a huge scratch in it like from a box cutter. See picture attached. Since the mounts were inside a plastic bag from the seller, this wasn’t a scratch caused by Amazon - it came that way from the seller clearly. I contacted the seller, and their proposed solution was to direct me to Amazon instead. Great customer support there. I gave up right away since clearly this was going to be a waste of my time, and lived with the scratch (most of it was going to be removed when mounting the speaker, and the rest I sanded out by hand before painting them). Just a warning to others that this seller places quality and customer satisfaction pretty low on their list of priorities though….Also, the flanges of the amount did not sit perfectly flat - the outside edges sat maybe a 1/16” higher than the inside part. I was using a butyl sealant and 12 screws around the outside, so was able to get a good seal, but I could see other applications where this could be an issue. Again, be forewarned.I decided to paint the black plastic a black semi-gloss and then clear coat in a satin paint. Figured it would clean up the plastic a bit (especially where I had to sand out the scratch) and hopefully help protect the plastic from sun fading. Used a spray paint that self primed to plastic, and seemed to adhere really well.Drilling the speaker mounts went fairly well. There are no markings on the speaker mounts to locate center or top/bottom center, so needed to take a mot of measurements to locate the speaker center and lots of trial fits to get the speaker squared to the angled mount as well. In the end I think I got it fairly close. Some markings in the inside of the plastic would be really nice though to locate center and top or bottom center points.I drilled a small water drain hole in the bottom of the housing in the event moisture got in behind the seals. Something to consider if installing in a similar application.The housing comes with no hardware other than some plastic/rubber edge trim that I never used. I drilled 12 mounting holes in the flange at (close to) equal spacing to make sure the butyl seal was solid as that the speaker wouldn’t fall off when driving down the highway. Couldn’t find black screws to save my life, so I bought zinc panel screws and painted and clear coated them the same black I painted the housings with.Overall, final product looks pretty good, pictures attached (apologize for the pictures in the rain). But the high price and quality issues I had really resulted in a low rating for this product. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Solid units *by 3***5 on Reviewed in the United States on 8 September 2022* As mentioned in another review, it was cheaper for me to buy these from the US site rather than from Amazon.ca (go figure) and even so they are abit expensive for just two pieces of molded plastic. But as also mentioned, these are very hard to find. I also used these to upgrade the cheap crappy factory outdoor speakers on my RV and they worked very well. They don't come with holes precut for the speakers, which is probably a good thing as this way you be sure you can custom fit your own speakers without issue. I simply used a dremel with a small cutting wheel to cut the holes. My 6.5 inch Pyle marine speakers do just slightly over hang the enclosure by about 1/8 of inch but it's really not an issue. I used clear silcone to fill that minor gap for extra weather proofing. All things considered, they are the best solution I could find to maintain a surface mount on my RV with larger speakers. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ These look alot smaller in the pictures *by B***8 on Reviewed in the United States on 25 November 2022* Pictures were a little misleading. The items arrives much bulkier than expected, and would have been an eye sore.
