You can go lighter and add more applications but just one application of the dark is pretty dark. **Q: the color stays several days? Thank you** A: Yes, I find that it usually lasts about a week on my skin (which is on the dryer side). It will fade gradually and evenly over the course of the week. I personally love this product. It's the only fake tanning solution that looks natural on my fair skin. **Q: Wht makes this different from previous ones?** A: I was curious of that too when I ordered. It seems to have a darker tint to serve as a guide for application. I think it's darker than previous ones and lasts longer. It seems to be a little tougher to blend. I find that a circular motion is the best application. Overall I like it better. **Q: is it possible to use over of my face? is it for my face?** A: I use it on my face. It does attach to dry spots, so I moisturize prior and let dry.
