It is the cable that needs protecting first to prevent damage. It would take a catastrophic failure for the amp fuse to blow. (Short circuit, wrong polarity installation, internal irreparable fault) **Q: what gauge (AWG) is the power and ground cables?** A: 8 Gauge **Q: Will this power Vibe Slick 69.2-V4?** A: Yes it will no problem **Q: My 200W subwoofer has a 7.5amp fuse on it, do i still need to to use the additional fuse included in this kit?** A: Yes!
