If you get some on your wifes favourite table it washes off easily, enamel requires white spirit to clean brushes and white spirit will strip the varnish off the table. I would recommend acrylic for any modelling and especially a beginner. Vallejo acrylics are very good, i use model colour, game colour and model air. Hope that helps. **Q: Are these paints Matte or Gloss finish** A: Hi, they dry with a nice smooth matte finish, however you can use gloss, satin or matte varnish to change or enhance the effect as required. Vallejo makes a decent gloss and satin varnish, but the best matte varnish is Testor's Dullcoat. You can also use different types of varnish on the same figure - for example, if you were painting a Napoleonic soldier, you could use matte varnish on the cloth parts of the uniform and gloss varnish on the boots and buckles. **Q: Are they good for painting reborns?** A: " Reborns" ? now that sounds a somewhat interesting hobby ? I have not he slightest idea what reborns refers to, but if you wish to paint a reborn, these would do the job I feel sure JR **Q: ARE THEY PRE-THINNED FOR USE WITH AN AIR BRUSH?** A: Model colour no but model air yesBuy the Vallejo thinner and mix about 80/20 then it's fantastic ## Frequently Bought Together - Vallejo - Model Color Folkestone Basics Set | Modeling Acrylic Paints | 16 Bottles x 18 ml (0.60 fl.oz.) - Vallejo - Model Color Face & Skin Tones Set | Modeling Acrylic Paints | 8 bottles x 18 ml (0.60 fl.oz.) - Vallejo - Model Color Basic Colors USA Set | Modeling Acrylic Paints | 16 Bottles x 18 ml (0.60 fl.oz.) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.gr/products/49117508-model-color-set-16-acrylic-paints-for-miniatures-18-ml](https://www.desertcart.gr/products/49117508-model-color-set-16-acrylic-paints-for-miniatures-18-ml) --- *Product available on Desertcart Greece* *Store origin: GR* *Last updated: 2026-10-02*
