It makes you fart badly though, so only in moderation, and not hours before a date! 😀 I just love it, great on pancakes, drizzle a little over natural yogurt..,, I’m on a keto diet so only having a little bit now and again. Obviously no pancakes at the mo! It’s pricy though!!
Review: Worth it! - I particularly wanted sugar free for cinnamon French toast! Flavour was good thickness wasn’t quite as thick as maple syrup with sugar but it was fine for french toast. It was a little pricey but as with all things you get what to pay for and this for me was worth it!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is it keto friendly? Can I use it following ketogenic diet?**
A: I asked the same question to my keto diet advisor, but had already bought it to use in my home made granola. I reduced amount in recipe and it does not seem to affect my sugar levels BUT I am advised Maltitol is a no-go for Keto.  Best alternative we have found is Warden Farms near zero pancake syrup so I am just about to order on Amazon, hope this helps

**Q: Why does it state 0g carbs per serving here on Amazon, yet on Joseph's website it states 9g carbs per serving?**
A: As suggested below the answer is because it contains Malitol - a sugar alcohol which is technically a carb. When I questioned the same thing in  my review, I received  a comment which may benefit you if you are attempting (like me) to follow a low carb diet. The comment stated that in a diet like atkins - you discount sugar alcohol as it is not digested.I would echo gforce's advice when it comes to the laxative effect. I can cope with Malitol - however my other half experiences mind blowing flatulence and  worse if he indulges. It appears to be a very personal thing as to whether your physiology can cope with the ingredient.

**Q: Has anyone used this to make fudge or honey combe?**
A: This Syrup makes delicious Honeycomb. I simmered the syrup for about thirty minutes to remove some of the water then added the ingredients to make the nicest honeycomb you will have ever tasted. It has that sweet smokey taste. Also great for candy apples or add cream for that great caramel sauce taste. Hope this helps regards Martin

Thick, lovely, maple flavour with buttery overtones. I could eat it by the spoonful, except for the unfortunate malitol side effects. It's helped me lose loads of weight on a low-carb diet. In moderation, of course.
