This journal has a month by month view, whereas my first journal was to be filled in week by week and this would be too time consuming as I aready have children. I like the details given on baby's growth, I don't find this a waste of time, and I think it's special.However, I also find BOTH scans, 12 weeks and 20 weeks, very special, yet there is only space for mum and dad to comment on one scan! This is disappointing. I think having a 3 page spread on maternity fashion and only one page for one scan is a big error. I also dislike how feminine it is, particularly as I am having a boy this time round. Pink and purple throughout, flowers and butterfly's. Also I'm not sure how interested my son will be with if his mother suffered from vaginal discharge or sore nipples in pregnancy!I have ignored these questions, and have managed to turn one of the many maternity fashion pages into a scan page.For its convenience of monthly entries and the cute pockets to store treasures, I am overall pleased. I like the sections for birthing plans and 'to buy' lists. Some pages I didnt use and some bits weren't relevant, especially as my birth was not what I had initially hoped it would look like. Places to add photos of your journey and first photos. Details week by week of how baby is developing. I enjoyed writing about my feelings, cravings etc in the notes section provided for each trimester its nice to look back and read parts of the pregnancy I had forgotten about. My friend bought me this book as a gift for my first pregnancy and I have since bought it again for my second pregnancy and for my sister in law who is expecting she also is very pleased with book. There is a lovely section at the back for when your baby is born to place photos and for visitors/family etc to write messages and for you to write a letter to your baby and record details of the labour.
