**Q: Does this product work well for making magnetic putty for older kids' projects? Thank you :-)**
A: That's exactly what I used it for. Just to be clear.... It does not turn the putty into a magnet, it becomes magnetic. So magnets will stick to it but magnetic things will not. You have to use A LOT of the powder but it's pretty cool.

**Q: Will this work for making ferrofluid?**
A: Possibly, but you would be better off using micronised synthetic magnetite. We stock this material, but it is not yet part of our Amazon catalog.

**Q: How pure of magnetite is this sample?**
A: Not sure

**Q: What was used to make this magnetite? oleic acid? wondering what type of solvent to use for my ferrofluid and i need to know to choose a solvent.**
A: Im think an iron compound but thats all i know about it. It doesnt say.
