It is important to understand the term "pass through". This because when you open the outer jacket of the bundled cable, separate out the individual cable inside in either the "A" or "B" configuration on both ends, and slide them into these connectors (making certain that you slide on the provided cable protector boot first), the wires will pass through and protrude (stick out of) out the end of the connector. This is by design and intended BUT you must have the correct connector compression tool designed to flush cut off the ends while compressing the connection ends. Not having that specific type of tool on hand will both spoil your work day and stop the process. That is unless you have a precise cutter to flush cut the connection ends.
