## Overview

The Fujifilm X-T1 is a premium compact system camera featuring a 16.3MP APS-C X-Trans CMOS II sensor, ultra-fast 0.08-second autofocus, and a near-optical real-time viewfinder with 0.005-second lag. Its robust, weather-resistant body with tactile aluminium dials offers professional-grade manual control in a portable form factor. Bundled with the versatile XF18-55mm F2.8-4 R LM OIS lens, it’s designed for photographers seeking high image quality, speed, and durability in a stylish, compact package.

## Description

A premium interchangeable lens camera, the X-T1 features evolved SLR-style handling, mechanical dials and weather-resistance (when paired with a weather resistant X mount lens), together with all the benefits of an X-Series camera, such as compact size, excellent mobility and high-speed performance. What's more, its newly developed electronic viewfinder is almost indistinguishable from an optical viewfinder thanks to its ultra fast display speed.

Review: Style and plenty of substance. - I had a brief foray into Fuji ownership with an X100 a few years back. A fantastic machine with IQ far above its price range but frustratingly slow and with various firmware features (freezing up, and needing a battery out reset) that didn't make the ownership experience fun. My desire for a more compact system took me away from Nikon DSLR to M43 with an Olympus E-M5. After a very brief move into FF with a D750 (Quality issues, 1 broke and the other had the flare issue, very disappointing) i made the mistake of handling an X-T1. All i can say is 'what a machine'. Build quality is fantastic. It's compact and solid and feels very robust (apart from the memory card cover). The lenses feel great, again solid and well built. The handling is good, quick and snappy autofocus and i do like having all the external controls. To me i find it very easy to see at a glance what the settings are before lifting the camera to my eye. Image quality is extremely good - i can't really fault it. Images are very usable at ISO 6400 if you need to go that far (and any noise can easily be dealt with in PP). I've not had any issues with RAW files either. I use Lightroom for PP and it seems to deal with the images very well (albeit slightly slower than with other cameras) - there seems to be a lot of debate on the various forums over how well the X-Trans files are dealt with but i've not found cause for complaint yet. Buggy and annoying firmware features are a thing of the past - this is a responsive and intuitive machine. I took advantage of the Fuji cashback promotion and ordered the X-T1 body, the 18-135 and 35 1.4 (£400 cashback - very nice). The 18-135 is nicely built, weather sealed and performs well. A great general purpose lens. The 35 is sublime. I'm sure the 56 1.2 will be added at some time and i'll be waiting for the 400 due in 2016 too. Downsides - Battery life is pretty low. I bought a few Ex-Pro equivalents and these seem to work just as well as the Fuji original at a quarter of the price. Just take a few with you if you've got a day of shooting. The strap - pretty crappy for a premium camera. I've replace it with a leather one from Deadcameras and this is perfect. Very comfortable and rather nice looking too ! Overall i'm very pleased. It's a lovely machine to take pictures with, small and light enough to easily fit in a small bag and carry around. If you need ultimate versatility to cover every shooting scenario (especially low light sports) then a DSLR is still the best option, but this machine will enable you to take fantastic photos, covering most scenarios and have a lot of fun in the process. Add in Fuji's commitment to firmware updates and a very nice selection of glass and that's what makes it a winner for me.
Review: Five star camera! - This is without a doubt a great camera, I love it. Its very well made, a great range of lenses is available for it and the support from Fuji is very good. I sold my FF Nikon SLR camera after trailing this camera and I have no regrets. The mirror less design makes this optically great camera small neat and light. The retro design is brilliant and the ability to check all your major settings by a quick look at the clear dials on the camera is very useful. EVF is big and bright and very useful. Due to its size anyone with large hands should definitely try before they buy! Arrived on time well packed.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Hi, how many shutter actuations has the camera made. Thanks.**
A: I assumed I was looking at a new camera - therefor it should have zero actuations. Have I missed something that implies it's second-hand?

**Q: Is this an interchangeable lens camera?**
A: Hi - Yes, it does - - - Hope you have lot's of fun with this camera - I am still learning - - - Ken

**Q: Are there any issues with the x-t1 downloading to a Mac?**
A: No issues. Mine downloads fine to my iMac and Mac Book Pro. Both raw and JPEG files work fine. Lightroom, Photoshop, apple Photo all ok.

**Q: Abot Fujifilm digital camera model X.T1: has this model mini flash inside?**
A: To add to the comment above, any standard TTL compatible flash can be used with the hotshoe on X-T1, I use my SB-910 (bit of an overkill in terms of size) with mine.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great camera let down by poor AF
*by H***R on 1 July 2014*

A great camera let down by poor auto focus. If your life depends on nailing a photograph, this camera in not for you. Apart from the disappointing AF and some odd ball software issues, this camera is fun to use and can produce great images when using good glass. If you are looking for a compact camera then the XT1 is worth a look.
