The first few times they worked fine. Other times they just peeled off straight away, I found the sensors stay on longer if they are on your skin for at least 12 hours without water contact. So baths instead of showers at first. Then apply the patch after the 11 hours. It also depends on smooth skin they stick better to smooth skin. I think if you use the patches you may want to use an adhesive spray to help keep it on if you want it for the gym. I can’t guarantee it will definitely stay on but a diabetes nurse recommended patches and someone else suggested using the spray to help it stay on. I still use the patches from time to time but, I do find they stay on for the full 24 if they don’t get wet for 12 hours. **Q: What does it actually do?** A: You use it like a plaster and it holds your sensor in place. The middle bit is not sticky so it doesn’t affect the sensor. It takes a lot of practice to put it on and you need help as you can’t do it yourself. **Q: Do you know if they are good for the beach and swimming in the sea?if so, how long do they work? Thanks** A: I think they would be fine for the beach and the sea. I do like how easy they are and the nice shape But they seem less substantial as other brands. So serious swimming I would be initially cautious of - they’re fine for baths/showers etc though **Q: Which Freestyle plaster is good for swimming** A: The round Maylove ones are my absolute favourite. The centre circle is not adhesive, so it’s easy to remove if you just want it on for swimming. The centre circle is also not padded which I liked compared to some ‘dressings’ you can buy. They look neater on than others I’ve tried and the application is easy with clear instructions in the pack and a ‘split back’ in 3 parts like a plaster. The film itself is very flexible and feels like a second skin. The first time I used a patch was when I attended a spa. I spent several hours in and out of the saunas, steam room, jacuzzi and swimming pool and the patch did not budge. It performed much better than I expected. However, much to my disappointment I have since found that the adhesive strength varies greatly from patch to patch. The maximum length a patch has remained in place has been 4 and not 10 days as advertised, and on several occasions I have had to replace the patch more than once in one day. This is despite following the application instructions to the letter each time!Whilst I love the size of this product & the fact that it does not irritate my skin (as other types have) I am, overall, very disappointed with the inconsistent performance of this product. It does not provide value for money. ### ⭐ Small and comes off quickly *by D***R on 27 March 2024* Found these just about cover the sensor and after sleeping one night it was already starting to peel.
