Review: Easy to use, excellent support. - This was my second Anova - the first died when the temperature sensor failed - and I bought it before I found the first had a two year warranty. So I now have two fully working units as Anova replaced the first faulty one with a new unit in month 22! That I bought another despite a relatively quick hardware failure says a lot - I bought the first to replace my Sous Vide Supreme after it failed - it's a good unit with excellent support. You do need to think about a container though: it needs a fair amount of water to work well, and that's heavy, so a solid container is a must - and it needs to be well insulated, or you are going to waste a lot of electricity. I multipurposed my deep fat fryer (12L) with a 1/2 Gastronorm perspex lid and bored a hole in that to hold the unit - it works really well and has a drain tap to make changing the water a load easier. The WiFi is rubbish though: it works as long as you are at home, but as soon as your phone app loses the local WiFi that's it: you need to reconnect while within few feet of it. So starting it heating before you leave work is a no-no. Ignore that, and it's a two button unit: a rotary control to set the temperature, and a Start / Stop button. The display is good and clear, and it seems to be pretty accurate and quiet in operation. Worth buying, but don't forget: to get the most out of this, you need a good pot for it to work in, and a vacuum sealing system to bag the food in - the ziplock ones are all well and good, but they are impossible to clean properly, and don;t hold a vacuum well enough for freezer storage. You'll need to budget about the same again for a decent "external" vacuum sealer, or four / five times that for the cheapest Chinese "Chamber" sealer. Review: Amazing! - I just love it!
