I had a small sore patch in a really difficult position on my lower back/upper bottom which would keep rubbing on clothing and, despite using barrier creams of different kinds, lingered for longer than I wanted or would return after a couple of weeks only to flare up again. I bought this barrier film spray and it has been a game changer. I can just about manage to contort myself into the right position to squirt my sore bit and once dry this Cavilon Barrier Film keeps the patch of skin dry without any pain or irritability for a good long while - giving the skin a chance to heal underneath. I've also used this stuff to protect my wrist skin where my Garmin Watch caused some irritation and sloughing of the top layer of skin. One squirt of this Barrier Film, let it dry and put your watch back on and you're good to go. The film layer is so thin that the watch can still work through it reading your vitals and because the barrier layer is dry it doesn't cause any issues with the delicate electronics of the watch itself. This stuff isn't cheap.... but it does work and one or two squirts are enough for most things I need it for, so I can see this little bottle lasting quite a long time. Firstly because you do not know what new chemical is produced by mixing two on the same area, secondly always be careful with delicate baby skin in case you set up sensitivity or even allergy. Use one or the other and only things designed for baby use. Leaving skin dry and exposed to air whenever possible and a without a nappy helps healing, then one barrier cream only when covering sore area. Basic over the counter cream was always good and is still used in my grown up family and their babies (doctors now so should know what they are doing).
