The only brand I know that delivers sharp to use tools are Lie Nielsen... you check the price and ask if that is what you need? Anyway all cutting tools needs to be honed at intervals, usually for every 20 minutes of "runtime" for a plane if you want the best possible result. A good honing station is a must in any carpenters workshop. I suggest you lookup the Youtube channel from Paul Sellers, and make a search for "reconditioning" "sharpening" and "plane". He has a no nonsense approach to honing tools that works. Faithfull also sells a diamond hone and I got one a while back. It is a very good entry level diamond plate with rubber stand, tho not in the of products like DMT Diasharp bench stones. Besides that, I recommend you make a plywood board with a sheet of leather for stropping your tools. To use is you apply some polishing wax from a stick and go to town.. Mr Sellers can show you how. Paul Sellers), because of the lateral adjuster. For what it's worth, I bought a Faithful #3 recently and the sides are square. I don't plan to use it for shooting though. **Q: Just bought this, the blade won't go back in once out. Is mine faulty?** A: Probably needs adjustment.
