This teaches them patience, not to be food aggressive, teaches them a couple more commands, gets a little more protein in them, and gives an object lesson of he who giveth and taketh away breakfast. I'm an old man and am rethinking my picking him up and getting on the scale after yesterday. Anyway, can I quantify what this has done for him? Not really. But he's making big dense bones. He makes them out of calcium. Give him what he needs to do that. You have a chihuahua? Eh... (hand rocking back and forth) it's not going to make him Cujo but it may help him.
