It can be mixed with ammonium carbonate to form a Cheshunt compound that is used in horticulture to prevent damping off in seedlings. Copper Sulphate can also be used to rid swimming pools of algae and in ponds/aquariums to kill parasitic infections and snails (Copper Sulphate is toxic to fish, so care must be taken to ensure the correct dose is used). Copper Sulphate is also used in the classroom to demonstrate an exothermic reaction by adding steel wool or magnesium ribbon to an aqueous solution of Copper Sulphate. In the pentahydrate form it can be heated which removes the water molecules from the solid structure leaving just the anhydrous copper sulphate (white) solid. All good ! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Organic fungicied and pesticide *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 25 March 2026* 100g Copper Sulfate + 100g Hydrated Lime + 10L Water.To make bordeaux mixture.Spray fruit trees roses stops mold, powder mildew, black spot, I add a table spoon full of Neem oil and a tea spoon of dish soap. Neem oil addition suffocate pests. Soap addition dehydrate the pests.One word of advice mix copper sulphate separately in hot hot water. As it doesn't like dissolving in cold water. Add to lime and water mix when you have already mixed all other ingredients with 9.5liters of water. Then last of all poor in copper sulphate shake well keep shaking regular for 24 hrs. Strain through J cloth draped over a kitchen sieve. Emptying all lumps from cloth regular and discarde . You will now have the best Organic fungicide and pesticide.Use before rain on cool day's will leave blue tint on plants soon fades.
