The handle is great too and the finger guard is good as well because the blade is SHARP straight out of the box. I only hand wash it and keep it on a magnetic wooden block to keep it sharp for a long time. It's hard to quantify whether a knife is good value for money but once you've used it a few times, you'll know. (psst! it is!)
