ACM is now in a range of six products in the range which have been designed for use with rigid and flexible ducting. In Line Mixed Flow fans offer two and half times the pressure of conventional axial fans, are dimensionally more compact making them ideal for many ducted applications. The impeller blade design with guide vanes provides optimum pressure characteristics and simple connectivity and quieter more efficient running provides the complete solution. The ACM Mixed Flow In-Line fan can operate in both horizontal and vertical positions and can be mounted to meet its optimum performance. These units have a separate footplate for simple location mounting, detachable spigots for simple connection to ducting. The motor body chassis now rotates to provide connection in acute spaces. The product is mounted using two straps that secure the motor chassis assembly to the footplate. Cleaning the product has also become simple as all parts can be removed without removing the ducting. Even when the original unit worked we still suffered from condensation and lingering smells in the bathroom. This unit is much bigger than what it replaced but it fitted easily in the loft and it's noticeably many times more powerful than our old bathroom fan. In the loft we fitted the fan on a base board on top of a layer of insulation foam to cut down on vibrations. It is effectively silent throughout the house bar the reassuring flow of air through the vent whilst in the bathroom. There is a speed setting if you need to limit the flow of air and cut this noise. As a recent purchase I can't vouch for reliability but the unit is sturdy and appears well built. I read the other reviews and was dubious about how good this extractor would be. However, once fitted I could not believe the difference it made! It is supoer-quiet but also very effective at removing all the steam that builds up in the bathroom when you are taking a shower. No more misted up mirrors!
