I have even used clp just be sure to dry as much as you can with a q-tip. If you are talking about getting some in striker channel like over spray I wouldn't worry. I was running low and decided to try something new. This stuff has zero scent, melts grease and oil, makes everything easy to spray down and wipe. It has made my regular cleaning much more simple. I have not noticed any wear or damage to plastic of metal parts on the exterior. I do still like #9 for soaking and scrubbing heavy carbon deposits (it’s thicker and will keep a patch wet). This stuff doesn’t leave a greasy residue, so it makes me feel like it cleans super well. Easy to spray down brushes to clean your bore.
