The covers are good, but one already had a small tear, showing that they are not that thick, so I expect a limited use. We.have been using these outdoors with our gymnastics bars. They get put away into a storage container after use. We don't allow shoes on the mats to prolong their life. I suspect one good heel would tear the cover. Overall I'm very happy with the mats and their quality, given the price is less than half of comparable mats.
