Due to shape of jazz bass it sits straight but the left lug is near the bridge and the right lug is just under output jack. I'd be hesitant about standing a Les Paul in one or an SG, I think a Strat can take a tumble but Gibsons have a weakness at the headstock. My advice, buy a Hercules gripper type.
