Remove two wires from the old one and just pull it out. Replace it with a new one and connect the wires! (take a photo and make sure you don’t mix them up. Also, obviously isolate at the consumer unit - and test it’s not live. If any of this doesn’t make sense, you probably shouldn’t be doing it yourself)Something to check - the reason ours was failing was because the original installer hadn’t seated one of the thermostat rear spades correctly into the spade terminal of the heating elemental. The poor contact lead to overheating and tripping out.
