This airtightness does mean that the lids can be a bit tight to reseal after opening, but by putting the lids in place and then pressing on the corner they will fit. I bought one to test out use as a freezer drawer in our Samsung US-style fridge-freezer. It works very and was such a good fit I bought a second one. The containers have a very low temperature range making them suitable for a deep freeze.
