My 3 nearly 4 year old and my 18 month old love it, it was fine on battery power but it goes off after 10 minutes, so I bought the power lead to go with it (took me a while to know I was picking the right one but got it delivered next day with Prime), the instruction leaflet tells you the spec of the lead you need to buy. With the power lead the rainbow stays on until you turn it off which is great, we have it positioned to shine a smallish rainbow on the wall above my son's bed (well it's still a fair size) we have the end lined up with the star shaped light on the wall (again to my 3 year olds request). It also adequately shines across the whole room giving off a nice rainbow light.
