Prepare properly and bob's your uncle. I've never primed tbh, but I do use the wax, 2 coats apply buff, apply buff. A year after painting and no chips or yellowing so I've just gave everything another coat of wax. **Q: My study desk is currently chocolate brown. Do you think that this would affect the look if I paint it using chalky white? Thanks.** A: I would say it would need probably 3 coats to cover it but it will end up white if you are prepared to do this.I painted an oak cabinet and a dark brown veneered table and both needed 3 coats for the bits that are on view but i got away with two coats for sides of cabinet for eg. I would highly recommend this brand tho. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very good quality, not quite Annie Sloan though! *by M***N on 25 October 2016* Having used Annie Sloan paint in the past for a few projects, I decided to give this a try because it had good reviews, was cheaper and available on prime which meant it would be with me quicker than any AS paint. I did like using this paint, and if I hadn't used the AS in the past, I'd have probably rated it 5 stars. I just found it didn't go as far as the AS paint did, so it didn't cover as well, and therefore I used more. One tin of AS did several pieces of furniture last time, but I have used almost all of this tin of rust-oleum on one bedding box. The AS mostly only needed one coat, whereas this needed two, and even three on some parts. However, I like the end result, the box looks loads better now. It had almost no smell at all so it was ideal for doing inside, and the feel of the finished paint is less chalky than the AS, although this won't matter once I've put a coat of wax on it. Overall I'd say it's a good quality paint, and ideal for small projects.
