I’m not really sure but I’m still using mine that I’ve had probably a year now and it’s fine. I guess it’s a bit like ordinary tins of paint that lasts several years and if anything this would seal better than a tin of paint. I’m sorry I can’t be more exact but I would guess it would be fine for a long time. I haven’t seen any signs of it going off. I just give it a good shake before using it. I've used this for priming and sealing wooden guitar bodies (both grey surface primer and the black one); also on Lexan/ plastic for my Radio Controlled cars, planes and helicopters, plus pottery, metal objects and various ceramics. I loved the 'flat' black primer so much, I used this as the main base coat on a Fender Telecaster-kit guitar build, and after covering with several coats of MATT/ Flat Vallejo lacquer, it looked great.
