Or can you adjust the device to random speeds between the range.** A: Hi, The speed changes gradually by rotating the dial with your thumb as you work. You can easily go from very slow revs to high speed much like pressing a car accelerator. For the price, I can't fault this machine. I'm not sure on the way to do on your own** A: Hi, I used this with a medium sponge disc and medium cutting paste then a fine sponge disc and fine cutting paste. Do a small area at a time --- 2ft sq-ish, lightly, with the sponge damp and a light smear of paste. START SLOW or you'll spin the paste off, then work gently on the area for five minutes or so with the medium paste till you complete a panel then do the fine paste. You can use the tool to polish as well if you get the a polishing disc.
