Found a tutorial on YouTube using the wire jig, came out perfect the first time! I was so pleased that I made a second one, since the pegs were still in place. A couple of things about the tubes, be sure to use them. Some reviewers have complained that the pegs don’t stay in place. You need to use the tubes to hold the pegs in place and then hold them down while you bend the wire around it. Also, most of the tubes are too long so the grid does not lay flat on the table. Just cut them in half. They will still work and allow you to have the plate flat. Lastly, if you want a sharp bend, over bend your wire when going around the peg. Instead of stopping where you’d like the bend to be, bend it past that point and pull firmly. That way, it’ll retain its shape when you remove it. If you have a peg'd design without the tubes, then turn the jig over, the pegs will fall out (Booo!) - unless they are held in place with the tubes (Yay!). The tubes are a must. Using a flexible filament, you could print custom peg holders with a 2.5mm hole. The pegs here are very solid and made of metal with a chromed finish. One could print custom pegs, too. A filleted triangle is very helpful in my studio. The possibilities are endless.... GO! The metal bits that you wrap your wire around do wiggle and slip out of the holes of you put too much pressure on them but overall they help me get the general shapes I want. The plate is pretty sturdy and so are the pieces. Its not big. I'd say its like a bit bigger than the palm of my hand.
