This little light helps me out a lot as my monitors poorly cast light on my keyboard.If your keyboard is close to your monitors you probably won't need this lamp. It doesn't provide full keyboard illumination unless you drill some holes in it. But if you're like me and have your monitors wall-mounted this is a nice gadget to have.(The reviewer was compensated for posting this review. Like most of what the other reviewers said the coverage of the light illuminating the keys are only limited and mainly only illuminates the center portion. Maybe Razer should have designed a WIDE ANGLE light then this would have probably been more useful. Or maybe they could have made the lamplight longer but of course this would only magnify its presence as an unnecessary CLUTTER. This is the only keyboard I know that has this light attachment. A for originality, but D for functionality. It looks rather dumb and primitive since if its real purpose was to make it easier to see the keys then I suggest that you buy an illuminated keyboard like the Saitek II Eclipse or the Logitech G19(if you can afford it!).
