There she found out just what an hysterical control freak Peyton was, berating any and all for anything she perceived as deviating from her plan. Now to the present, she gets a frantic call from a fellow bridesmaid Ashley, who informs Bailey that two of the bridesmaids have died in accidents that are a bit too convenient. Is there someone bent of killing all of the bridesmaids?Bailey is concerned enough to head off to Peyton’s catering empire in Conn to try to find answers. Peyton, staying completely in character, is none too thrilled, worrying that her “brand” will be sullied with an association with inexplicable murders. Bailey soon discovers that the wedding was not “perfect.” One of the dead girls has unexplained evidence; others overheard private conversations; and others were disgruntled with the proceedings. And Bailey, herself, has come under some threatening actions. She is making someone very uncomfortable.The book is an easy read, mildly interesting, but can’t say it was all that compelling. The characters are pretty much cutouts. Even Weggins could do with more subtlety. She seems a little tone deaf. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Enjoyable Series & (Mostly) Likeable Protagonist *by G***X on Reviewed in the United States on July 17, 2006* I picked up the first book at a library sale, and enjoyed it enough to order the next two off an Amazon seller. Both were as well-plotted and enjoyable (I didn't have a clue to the identity of the real killers until the very end). The first-person narrative is peppered with neat allusions, metaphors and wit. My main point of contention is that for a savvy, intelligent journalist and semi-investigator, Bailey is one pathetic chick at her relationships, expecially with men. She is too conflicted, and in too many instances acts like a doormat with her beaus and other people with whom she interacts. An example is her attendance as a bridesmaid at Peyon's wedding in this book: of course, it set the stage for the plot, but that could have been set through other means without her allowing herself to be terated like absolute garbage by the Bridezilla. Any self-respecting woman would and should have walked away from the wedding in order to maintain some semblance of dignity. However, all in all, a very good series, and I'm looking forward to book four. Maybe she can actually keep a man in this one... :) ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ LOVE IT! *by T***E on Reviewed in the United States on June 27, 2015* I had the first two books in the Bailey Weighed series by Kate White on my bookshelf from having read them a few years ago but it wasn't until recently through randomly searching my Kindle Bookstore that I realized their were four more in the series so I started with the download of this one....LOVE IT!!
