Wanted to find a 4 inch sock to fit in place but I think this works better. It has more surface area for the particulates bound via phosphate rx to clog the sock meaning you won't have to clean it until after the dose is complete. Since it is 10 micron, I even run my tank through this sock to really polish the water and it does well. The sock has a nice, sturdy, wire opening as well as a strap to support the weight of water collected in this sock.
