Follow up, as well as it was working it died at 34 days. This is 4 days outside the desertcart return window, considering it took a few days before I could install it it actually worked for less than 1 month. Who knows maybe I just got a bad one I will order a replacement. Stay tuned for info on replacement. Replacement wasn't needed, I disconnected it for about 30 minutes then reconnected it again and it appears to have reset itself, it is currently running just fine and all readings I have verified are again working spot on. The irony is that Mr Ostrosky fell upon the fact that for cheap panels (17v) in parallel, a pwm is just as good as a mppt. The standard is his 17v at 70ish degrees runs at 2v less when temperature adjustment is made since the solar panel gets really hot. Mppt transforming 15v down to battery voltage vs a pwm dumping at battery voltage is essentially indistinguishable. The mppt will only boost amperage a tiny amount over the pwm. There are some good YouTube videos on this using quality lab setups. **Q: is this actually a 60a, mppt negative ground controller?** A: I been struggling with this handling 60 amp output too. I use 8 gage wire. I beleive china means it can take a solar charging panel out put of up to 60A from what I have read. They are not refering to what all of are which is hiw many amps on the load side. The wiring inside unit is very thin. Like 22 gage. I am sure my trolling motor at 40 amps would cause this to melt away. Anyone know for Sure???? **Q: Does this unit come with proper wiring ?** A: No **Q: controller memory- Will charge controller retain my settings when I 'kill' the power while the unit is not in use?** A: Yes, but it doesn't matter.
