I love the mesh on the underbelly because it’s nice and comfortable for her, it’s not bulky, and it dries quickly. The sides are not bulky, there’s padding under the neck. My favorite are the two handles. Other life jackets have one handle, so if you need to pick your dog up into the boat, they dangle from one end and it’s not easy to life. 2 handles make it incredibly easy and comfortable for the dog. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fido Float for good swimmers! *by P***S on Reviewed in the United States on July 19, 2014* Our dog LOVES this product. We bought our first one years ago and he swam like the wind in it. He's a great swimmer to begin with but we bought this to ensure he'd be safe if he jumped off the boat. After years of use and I mean intense use it finally dyed in the sun and wore out. We couldn't find another fido float in Pet Supplies Plus so we ended up buying a bulkier brand complete with neck brace to keep a dog's head elevated in the water. Our dog HATED IT! He was like a sitting duck in the water. I think there were too many straps and he couldn't move his head around so he was operating at half of the speed he usually does and was not enjoying himself at all. We quickly grabbed our old ripped up Fido Float and he was back at it swimming like a Champ! We turned the bulky life vest into a back-up & ordered a new Fido Float on Amazon straight away. His first Fido Float was a size medium, but when the new Fido Float came it was far too big. I think they changed their sizes. So we returned that & ordered a small. It's a bit snug and a bit short on top but he LOVES IT I think even more than the first Fido Float. I would recommend this product for dogs who are great swimmers and this is to ensure they are safe. When in the water, our dog never stops moving so I'm not sure how well it does if a dog were to be afraid and just sitting in the water. But for our little water rat he glides around in this thing. Great product! I hope they continue to make them because we'll need another in a few years I'm sure! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ CAUTION *by T***T on Reviewed in the United States on July 9, 2011* I have purchased this particular vest for all four of my animals and I like them very much. These are put on as a human would put on a shirt or blouse backwards and then sips across the back. There is full under body support should you have to lift your pet and you don't have the risk of straps coming undone and dropping them.However, although I measured my dogs several times to make sure I was ordering the correct size, the x-large one was simply too tight for my Choc Lab, so I ordered another one in xx-large, assuming I could tighten it up some and make it work. Not! The xx-large was huge - too wide, too long - can't imagine what type of dog this would fit. I PUT IT ON and it went below my knees! So, I called and got return authorizations for both of these and went to UPS to ship. It would cost me more to return the x-large one then I paid for it and the xx-large was within pennies of what I originally paid. So, at that rude awakening, I cut my losses, didn't return them, and now own two perfectly good, but useless pet life jackets. Lesson here would be READ THE FINE PRINT. Although I don't resent having to pay to return something, I would assume it would be the same as the shipping that was originally charged to me; certainly not 3-4X as much. You would think the companies would have some type of agreement if you return products using same shipping company. Having said all of that - the other three vests I purchased that fit - are exactly what I wanted and I would recommend this brand and type to others and will certainly purchase again if the need arises. But, I won't be ordering online.
