**Q: Is this a valve that will control flame height for my outdoor firepit or is this just a simple on/off valve. If it is a simple on/off valve?**
A: It will control the height. The more you open the valve the bigger the flame.

**Q: What is the BTU rating?**
A: I use this valve to operate a 250,000 BTU burner. It will handle that and anyrhing below.

**Q: Will this fit in a standard 2x4 wall flush ? . Putting it on a drywall wall next to fireplace . Thanks**
A: You know maybe you should not do this because you're not a plumber yes that thing will fit and a two by four it's made to fit 2 by 4

**Q: What is the measurement from the rear of the valve to the inside face of the flange when the flange is screwed out all the way?**
A: do not know that  but even if you are doing Mattel studs It will fit in the cavity

I have not installed it yet but seems of standard brass ball valve quality. Turns tight and stiff which is a good sign. Before I bought this I couldn't find any meaningful dimensions besides that it's 1/2" IPS. So, I hope this helps someone: 3" from center of valve to face of chrome extension. The minimum amount of space between the valve and the inside of the key port would be 2-5/16". You can unscrew the chrome piece to get more space with still a couple threads screwed on and that would give you maximum 3-1/8" of space between valve and inside of key port. In other words, the wall thickness that this valve is penetrating. Trying to describe that as easy as possible, sorry if confusing. Attached photos with tape measure for visual.
