I've used them when we went on vacation or I was lazy and didn't want to remember to feed the fish for a few days ;) **Q: Can you use these in a small, unfiltered bowl?** A: I used these in a small unfiltered bowl and they grew oddly colored fungus and I am 99% sure my betta is going to die. I fully cleaned the tank as soon as I came back from my 5 day trip and he isn't looking good at all. **Q: how many pellets do the cakes give? i was told to feed my betta with only 3 pellets a day, but i feed him more because he still seems hungry...** A: Each one has seven days worth of food. Not sure how many pellets exactly. The water breaks the cakes down slowly over the seven days to release food for the fish. I am sure the fish could attempt to eat more from it if still hungry. **Q: Are you supposed to be able to see the actual food? The cakes are breaking down but I never see food being released.** A: They instantly sank to the bottom of my tank, and I could see the food pellets. Before and after they were released. But this food poisoned my fish, and he only ate 2 bricks. It took him almost 2 more weeks to slowly die. I will never recommend anyone buying this product, ever. And I gave them a horrible review. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Useful to have on standby if you go away for a weekend just put one in job done *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 10 January 2017* these smaller ones are ideal for a weekend away and i use them regularly for that reason, they dissolve without any issues the fighting fish love them and therefore I will keep some to hand for next time I go away, when these run out I Will be buying some more. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for Vacation! *by on Reviewed in Canada 13 June 2025* I used the Zoo Med Betta Banquet 7-Day Feeding Block while I was away for a week, and it worked perfectly. Just dropped it in the tank and didn’t have to worry at all. The block slowly released food over several days, and my betta stayed active, healthy, and well-fed the entire time.I really appreciate that each block is individually sealed — it keeps them fresh and moisture-free until you’re ready to use one. The ingredients seem high quality too, with a mix of krill, fish meal, and essential vitamins.A few things to keep in mind: the block will slowly dissolve, so make sure to do a water change after the week to keep the tank clean. And while it’s perfect for short trips, I still use regular pellets for daily feeding when I’m home.✅ Pros:• Easy to use and mess-free• Keeps betta fed for up to 7 days• Sealed packaging keeps blocks fresh• Good quality ingredients❌ Cons:• Slight clouding if left too long without water change• Not meant for everyday useOverall, this is a super convenient, reliable product for vacations or weekends away. Highly recommend if you want peace of mind while traveling! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fish haven't died *by on Reviewed in Canada 21 August 2026* Been using these for 2 years when I go on vacation. They work. They do cloud your water though. Fish haven't died so my kids are happy ## Frequently Bought Together - Zoo Med Betta Banquet Blocks 6 Card (Set Of 2), fish, 0.3 ounces - Aqueon Vacation Feeders 7 Day - 1 Pack - Pro Balance 14-Day Vacation Feeding Blocks, Fish Shape (2/Blistercard) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.gr/products/462544877-betta-banquet-blocks-6-card-set-of-2-fish-0](https://www.desertcart.gr/products/462544877-betta-banquet-blocks-6-card-set-of-2-fish-0) --- *Product available on Desertcart Greece* *Store origin: GR* *Last updated: 2026-10-09*
