You seem to say different things...** A: Yes, they are microwave safe. I think mine were stored in extreme heat. I believe the gasket in the lid melted and attached to the cup. So we had to use tools to separate them and a few caps/covers actually broke. It seems that these cups were experience very hot temperatures, perhaps in transit from China, and the rubber seals were melted and the result was a glued cap to the cup. We ended up buying several different rubber seals to try to fit in their place, after 3-4 purchases and a couple of weeks of try and error we found the right types and we made it work, but it was a nightmare.
