Built very sturdy, good strong material. Upon reading reviews for other keyboard stands I noticed many of them on their lowest setting was still just too high to play sitting comfortably on a chair. But this keyboard at its lowest setting is perfect for a normal chair and it's width is very good for an 88 keyboard. It opens and closes easy, but locks in nicely to remain sturdy. Maybe only drawback is not enough leg room, but that's to be expected with these double X style keyboard stands so you just have to kind of deal with that, but I don't think it's that big of a deal. Not sure of what drew me to this one, maybe it was that someone mentioned that it sat lower than most other stands. Well, this is true, I actually have it on its second lowest height setting, and it's perfect. I'm sitting in a reclining office chair, at an Ikea desk. The keyboard I'm using is an Oxygen 61. It's just a tad smaller than I thought it should be for this stand in terms of its depth, but what I did was:Took 6 of those round (don't have to be round I guess) felt bumpers, the kind you use to cushion the bottoms of chairs etc. so they don't scrape when you move them. And strategically placed them underneath so that they keep the keyboard totally in place and still when it's sitting. Totally awesome move.
