The genesis of this model involved the need to strengthen self-propelled artillery at the end of the war. The newly constructed D10 - 100 mm cannon was mounted on the slightly modified hull of the popular SU-85. In the period 1944-46, about 4,500 units of this vehicle were produced. Was missing one piece to attach the wing flap, had to contact Cobi for the piece, and I have to say the customer service was excellent. They got right on it to send me the piece and said it would be a 2 week wait. Got the piece in 13 days being sent from Poland! That's faster than Lego can do. It was an easy assembly with great instructions as usual. I have purchased 12 of their WWII planes so far, and all are top quality. Cobi is the company to go with for your military collection. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sturdy well designed *by H***R on April 11, 2026* It was very good 😊 ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding *by K***R on February 20, 2026* I can't count how many models I have built in my life---but there was quite a hiatus between age of 15 and retirement age. That hiatus ended with a Cobi F16 and continues with this Japanese Zero. These planes are well engineered and true to the planes' design. The bricks fit together well and the instructions, for having no words, are logical. However, these aren't 20 piece sets that can be assembled in 1/2 hour.....they need a measure of study that makes them all the more worth it when completed. I am just super impressed and will be buying more. One thing I did that helped decrease that time looking for parts-----I dumped the contents of the original parts bags into zip lock sandwich bags..... made it much easier to see the parts and to remove them when needed. Also, the stamped markings are first class vs. dealing with decals.
