This could serve as a piece of furniture. Very classy design, sturdy, and generously sized. Absolutely perfect for my laptop plus the items I like to have near: my mouse pad with gel wrist-rest, a separate number key pad, a cup of coffee and a small tablet of paper. Plenty of room for all . The material of the top is one solid piece. The finish looks very durable. Examining the top closely, you can see it isn't really wood but it does appear that way from even a short distance. The narrow 'feet' slide right under my couch or recliner. I'm now certain that if I had purchased a less sturdy table I would have been very unhappy.
