My mom refuses to eat red meat, even ground beef, yet when I basically forced her to try a single bite, not only did she immediately clean the plate, she went back for seconds, and then went back for thirds. For anyone new trying this, try browning it in a pan with a bit of butter. You'll enjoy it. The U.S. does not allow certain lamb organs (liver, lungs, etc.) to be imported in food. Grant's is imported from the U.K. and is more like traditional with all of the classic lamb organs. The Caledonian Kitchen Haggis offers lamb, highland beef, or sirloin and by far the tastiest haggis outside of Scotland. The only meats in the Caledonian Kicthen brand are lamb with beef liver added in place of lamb liver/lungs. So if you can't eat pork and are not worried about 100% traditional, C.K. is the way to go in any flavor. **Q: How can this be “traditional” if it does not have lung meat?** A: You can also buy canned haggis just like this in Scotland, but lung is an ingredient that is not allowed to ship in the US. It is good haggis, but the last two cans I ordered came badly dented and cannot be returned. For canned haggis, this stuff is pretty good. It's a tad on the salty side which is why I gave it 4 stars. The spices are spot on.
