A: It is most assuredly not junk. It is an excellent product, very well made, that performs beautifully. And yes, it is made in China.

**Q: What is the actual height without lid and length of bottom of the pan?**
A: 7 inches height 12 inch diameter

**Q: Is the bottom completely flat?  does it have an engraved emblem on the bottom?  one lodge user said the lodge emblem burned into her glass stovetop.**
A: It does have an engraved emblem on the bottom with raised letters. Given the surface, a hot pot could act like a branding Iron.

**Q: Made in USA?**
A: I just googled Mueller cast iron. It said the only cast iron made in the US is Borough cast iron.  I hope this helps.

It is a very heavy Dutch oven. Approximately 14 lbs with lid. I will need my husband to put it in the oven. But that is only a fair price for him to have to get awesome sourdough bread! Love the color and the savings over so many other brands! Thank you for the suggestion.
