With over 90% transmittance above 650nm and a standard 1.25" thread size, it fits most telescopes and dramatically improves contrast and clarity of emission nebulae and infrared-bright astronomical objects. ## Description The Night Sky Hydrogen-Alpha Filters are narrowband filters with a 50% transition from blocking to passing at about 640nm. At wavelengths longer than 650nm, transmittance is 90% or above. This convenient filter only allows wavelengths above 650nm through, which means it blocks a large part of the scattered light and also blocks the light from artificial mercury and sodium-vapour lamps. The filter is used as an extreme anti light-pollution filter, and for contrast-enhancement of emission nebulae and other astronomical objects bright in the infrared. The 1.25" Night Sky Hydrogen-Alpha Filter, threads into the nose-piece of industry-standard 1.25" Digital Imagers. The Astromania H-Alpha cut-off filter enhances the contrast between object and sky, allowing you to take good quality images even under urban skies. ## Features - A filter with incredible light pollution cut off characteristics - The new H-Alpha passfilter enables high-contrast deep sky images of H-II regions - The H-Alpha filter shares the same outstanding features as all the other Astromania imaging filters - Unmatched optical quality and high efficiency hardened multicoatings result in the sharpest and highest contrast images possible - The filter is used as an extreme anti light-pollution filter and for contrast-enhancement of emission nebulae and other astronomical objects bright in the infrared ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B07V7B98DT | | Audio Recording | No | | Best Sellers Rank | #1,663,093 in Electronics ( See Top 100 in Electronics ) #96 in Telescope Filters | | Brand Name | Astromania | | Coating Description | Multi Coating | | Colour | black | | Compatible Devices | Telescopes with 1.25" filter capability | | Customer Reviews | 4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars (22) | | Enclosure Material | Optical Glass | | Has Self-Timer | No | | Item Dimensions L x W | 32L x 32W Millimeters | | Item Type Name | filter | | Item Weight Unit of Measure | 0.3 Ounces | | Manufacturer | china | | Manufacturer Part Number | SKU_AM_ZF1HNS | | Media Type | ProductImage | | Model Number | SKU_AM_ZF1HNSB | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Photo Filter Effect Type | Infrared | | Photo Filter Size | 32 Millimeters | | Photo Filter Thread Size | 3.2 Centimetres | | Screen Size Unit of Measure | 1.25 Inches | | Water Resistance Level | Not Water Resistant | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Astromania - **Coating Description:** Multi Coating - **Material:** Optical Glass - **Photo Filter Effect Type:** Infrared - **Photo Filter Thread Size:** 3.2 Centimetres ## Images ![Astromania 1.25" Narrowband H-Alpha Night Sky Filter - Black, Multi Coated Optical Glass, H-Alpha Effect, 31.75mm - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41d5ma-hblL.jpg) ![Astromania 1.25" Narrowband H-Alpha Night Sky Filter - Black, Multi Coated Optical Glass, H-Alpha Effect, 31.75mm - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51SDSnnlHvL.jpg) ![Astromania 1.25" Narrowband H-Alpha Night Sky Filter - Black, Multi Coated Optical Glass, H-Alpha Effect, 31.75mm - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51RtqHU2umL.jpg) ![Astromania 1.25" Narrowband H-Alpha Night Sky Filter - Black, Multi Coated Optical Glass, H-Alpha Effect, 31.75mm - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51bU4qQAQlL.jpg) ![Astromania 1.25" Narrowband H-Alpha Night Sky Filter - Black, Multi Coated Optical Glass, H-Alpha Effect, 31.75mm - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41+Vw2NARUL.jpg) ## Frequently Bought Together - Astromania 1.25" H-Alpha Night Sky Filter - Astromania 1.25" O-III Filter - Enhances Contrast During Visual Observation of Gaseous and Planetary Nebulae in All Sky Conditions, The Veil, Ring, Dumbbell and Orion Nebula, Among Many Other Objects - Astromania 1.25" UHC (Ultra High Contrast) Filter - Superb Views of The Orion, Lagoon, Swan and Other Extended Nebulae --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.gr/products/453135424-astromania-1-25-narrowband-h-alpha-night-sky-filter-black](https://www.desertcart.gr/products/453135424-astromania-1-25-narrowband-h-alpha-night-sky-filter-black) --- *Product available on Desertcart Greece* *Store origin: GR* *Last updated: 2026-10-19*
