I use them to support the protein pails, feed and water buckets up to 5 gallon sizes. I'm sure they can support a greater weight, I just don't need them to.The goats ram into them, climb up on the buckets with their front feet and have never ever dislodged a bucket from these non-corrosive super sturdy brackets.I did run horizontal 2x4 studs for something more formidable to screw them onto. I think that if attached to siding or 1x10 vertical boards, they would eventually work it free. In summer they are mounted on stout 4x4 posts (two brackets on opposite sides of the same post) which is very nice and I don't have to bend over to always pick up buckets from the ground. Keeping the buckets off the ground on brackets also helps keep goat berries out of their drinking water!I can easily rest the lip of the bucket on the bracket J-groove while I pull up the pin and put the bucket handle in place... even my most troublesome and curious goat can't figure out how to dislodge a bucket from these brackets. Smooth edges, nothing to catch or be cut on.I highly recommend these to anyone who wants to hang a bucket in the hopes of finding it in the same place the next day... get it, you won't regret the purchase. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect *by T***. on Reviewed in the United States on January 17, 2019* I ordered one of these and one made by Little Giant (black powdered coated). Of the two this one is superior. The lip that the flat back of the bucket fits perfectly and gently snaps into place without much effort or jarring. The LG one was a pain to try to attach the bucket plus after it was filled with water, trying to unclip it sloshed water all over me. It was a wrestle match.
