This will be difficult to explain and visualize, but the sound comes from the bent edges of the sheetmetal on the sliding cover (the part with the handle), I filed those at some locations so that the cover just rides on bent corners of it's sides and not on the bent front and back. The sides have two bends (forms a U), whereas the front and back just one (forms an L) and it is those edges that scrape file those down. Hope that makes sense. **Q: How long does it keep ice before it melts.** A: WE HAVE HAD PARTIES AND THE ICE HAS BEEN IN THE CHEST OVER NIGHT AND HALF THE NEXT DAY **Q: Is there condensation on the outside?** A: YES absolutely. We are in an air conditioned food trailer and the condensation is terrible. No insulation. **Q: Q re sliding lid coolers only is the lid attached? only used 1/2 or can entire lid be removed as needed?** A: The lid is not attached and can be removed.
