**Q: Hi - neighbor shoots firearms in the middle of the nite, about 100 yards away from my house - will this meter measure those sounds?**
A: Hi, 
At this time, none of our devices are capable of accurately measuring db level of a gunfire as they can only measure up to 130db. Furthermore, they cannot measure instantaneous peaks, only continuous sounds. Gunshots range from 140db-190dB and are instantaneous.

I can recommend looking at the LXT1-QPR from Larson Davis as it is specific for gunfire testing.

**Q: Is there a sound level meter - reed or other brand - that can read low frequencies between 20db and 10db?**
A: REED Instruments does not have a meter that can take readings between 20dB and 10dB.

**Q: Is it necessary to connect the R8080 data logging sound meter to the PC before starting to record, such as other sound meter?**
A: According to the specifications R8080 has 1MB of internal memory (64,000 Data points) and can be used as a stand-alone device. Connecting it to the PC enables users to plot graphs in real-time and export data to CSV format.
