Amazon disappointed me with this.** A: This is how they make their money back on all thst free shipping and great deals they give up front. They find obscure, harder to find items like this and hike the price up to the moon. They've got people so conditioned to Amazon always having the best price that alot of people don't even bother to check. Then they step on this land mine and get got. Now they gotta pay the man. They got me on a 4 inch hole saw once. Gave em $60 for the bit and arbor. Found the bin a clearance bin at the hardware store for $10 a week later. **Q: Does this work on cars to put plastic parts on the interior? So it stays in place???** A: I am not too impressed with Bondic, so far. If you are wanting to glue plastic parts together, I would not recommend Bondic. It comes as a clear, thick gel, which I think would work well to hold parts where the gluing surface was exposed. You use the VU Light (supplied) to cure it. I put a drop on a piece of plastic and cured it. It turned into a clear, hard shape just like the drop. But, when I tried to glue two hotrod style hood sides together, it wouldn't work. The problem is the liquid has to be cured by the UV Light. It will not set up on its own. So, if you want to join pieces where the glued areas not exposed, (like between two parts) the light can't reach the liquid and it doesn't cure or stick. If you check YouTube, under "Bondic" you will see that the repairs they make all have exposed gluing areas, or the parts are clear. (Colored clear seems to work). One of the vids shows using it as a casting agent, in a Silly Putty mold, made by pressing it onto a part. As long as the mold has an open face and the UV Light can reach the resin, it should work okay. For regular non-clear model parts, you'd be much better off with super glue. I use Zap products. Zap-A-Gap is a slightly thickened glue, which works well. As the name implies, it will fill gaps and holes. Of course, there is a limit to how big a spot you can do at one time. But you can build up layers. I have even used it, in multiple layers, as a body filler. It's quick and easy, as long as you sand it down smooth soon after putting it on. If you wait too long, it will finish setting up super hard and be difficult to sand. I use it almost exclusively, to glue all kinds of plastic model parts, as well as photoetched or resin parts. Finally, I am a little burned up because my Bondic did not come with the thin applicator tip it shows in most of the videos. I have to dip it out with a toothpick. For the price, that feels like a rip. If you’re putting flat surfaces together I would use Shoe Goo. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I was amazingly impressed *by R***Y on June 3, 2020* I've used many adhering products and 90% are garbage, 7% barely do as claimed and the last 3% do as advertised. This one does as advertised. This came recommended by a friend and I took it with a grain of salt, but said "what the heck". First thing.. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!I decided to use it on a plastic trim bezel in my car that the holding posts had broken off yrs back and it kind of sat there occasionally falling off. I cut some tabs from another item and applied the first one to the bezel (see pic)...using the curing light on both sides for 4-7 seconds each side and I let go. I was flabbergasted, I kept waiting for it to lean over, I gave it a little push on the tab and the whole bezel moved solidly. I picked it up by the tab and it was rock solidly applied. I tried wiggly it, nope, solid and only took a few seconds. No waiting minutes or hours for curing only to be disappointed after the wait as the piece fell back apart. I immediately texted my friend and with explicit language told him how impressed I was.I then applied the other tab...now this is part of READING THE INSTRUCTIONS! I applied a couple more layers of the bondic to each tab, using the light 4-7 seconds and then put the bezel back and it snapped right into place very nicely and securely. That wasn't good enough, I pulled it back out, put it in, smiled, repeated and smiled to a little laugh of success....thinking to myself, this took all of 5 minutes total to do.As a 30yr contractor I have some heavy duty adhesives I've use on occasion, they would not have worked for this application. So I am familiar with what I've written and can say that at minimum, this will take care of a number of those things that got nicked off and glues wouldn't work on. There's no smell, no sticky fingers, its direct application, turn on and apply the light and its hard. I'm ready to be impressed with some heavier duty applications and will update if I do some. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Plastic weld *by D***N on July 31, 2024* Awesome stuff when used properly. It is a plastic weld, so you need to treat it like a weld. If you weld one side of something (steel), you can break the weld with your hands by bending away from the weld. This is the same. You need to have it on a many sides as possible for strength. I got it to put the arm back on my glasses that I accidently broke the hinge on. It's has been 2 months and it's holding fine. Great stuff! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Weird but useful *by E***E on September 22, 2019* I bought this in part to see how quickly the photosetting material set and in part to repair a broken glass filter from a ceiling light fixture.This started out with a bad first impression - the UV light didn't light. The unit is a clone of the original Photon Light, the first white LED device I ever saw. It appears the assembly of the light let it come on and drained the batteries. but I had spares and replaced them okay. The LED has a narrow beam, good for this application.It's remarkable how quickly the stuff sets from longwave UV, I see why my dentist uses a yellow filter on his head light when he works with the dental variety.My repair wasn't classy - just spot welds on each side where the glass pieces fit together.
