Or is it a one time** A: Yes it has to refill to the top sensor so it can recycle, also if water level goes way below sensor when it reboots it will only pump 3 times then red light comes back on so unplug and plug back in so it can pump remainder water to reach level you might have to do this several times( i hope not) usually once is sufficient, hope this helps. **Q: Can I use it on a 40 gal ?** A: Yes, it will work fine. **Q: Will this still work if I put a longer tube on it?** A: Sure **Q: How do you install hose clamp on a rimmed tank?** A: Just rotate it. Very easy to setup and very easy to wire up the pump is very strong for its size and you can feel the weight and build quality is high ( I have a few pumps this size and none compare with power and feel ).
