This test measures important parameters such as pH, total hardness, chlorine, nitrate, metals (such as lead and copper) and many more that can affect your health. Keep an eye on the water quality for your health and household appliances. Easy to use. The use of the 16-in-1 drinking water test strip is easy and can be done by anyone in a few steps. You do not need any special prior knowledge or equipment. Here's how it works 1. Remove water sample Fill a glass or small container with fresh tap water. Be sure to let the water run for a few seconds before catching it. 2. Dip test strips Take a test strip out of the pack and immerse it in the water for about 2 seconds. Make sure that all test fields of the strip are fully in contact with the water. 3. Pull out strips and wait Pull the strip out of the water and gently shake off excess water. Leave the strip for approx. Air dry for 30 seconds. The test fields change their colour according to the measured parameters. 4. Compare colours Now compare the colours of the test fields with the included colour scale. Each colour represents a certain value, so you can immediately see if your water is within the safe range or if limits are exceeded. Which values are good is indicated on the scale by a black bar. Do not read after another 15 seconds. So read between seconds 30 and 45. 5. Evaluate results Write down the results and evaluate the water quality using the colour scale. Question: Why do the test strip colours not change? (Part 2) The pH value of water in the household is often 7.2 to 7.8. That's why a small change usually takes place. There is a black bar on the colour scale of the test where the results are compared. This shows in which areas the measured values are in order. Question: Why always get the same results? Answer: (1) The water from the same region is similar. (2) Water from different household taps has the same characteristics. Note: A pure activated carbon filter does not change the results Activated carbon filters do not filter limescale A pure activated carbon filter is not enough to filter calcium and magnesium (lime) from the water. Limescale significantly influences the water hardness and thus also the parameters "pH value", "total alkalinity" and "carbonates". If you use the "Reverse Osmosis System" filter, you will see clear differences in the test parameters.
