## Questions & Answers

**Q: Anybody else get short changed on the length?**
A: Has anyone complaining of shorter lengths measured the sleeve off the reel before installing it over a bundle of wire? If the sleeve is compressed to fit a bundle of wire it will be shorter than the flat, unfilled sleeve. Perhaps they should explain that 25ft of flat 1/2" sleeve will not cover a 25ft length of 1/2" diameter wire. The sleeve will get shorter by increasing margins depending upon the diameter of the bundle it is fitted over. Not saying that the company is NOT shorting the length of sleeve, just offering an explanation as to why it may appear to be shorter lengths.

**Q: How do I know what size diameter I need?**
A: Please measure the diameter of cables. For example, If the whole diameter of cables is 3/8'', you should buy 3/8'' PET braided wire sleeve. If the whole diameter of cables is 1/2'', you should buy 1/2''. One more thing, Is it possible for you to separate the cables and connector plug? If not, Although our PET sleeve can expand up to 150% in diameter, you have to pay attention that if the PET sleeve can successfully go through the big connector plug

**Q: What temperature are these sleeves rated for?**
A: The work's temperature of braided sleeve is -103 to 257 ℉, and it can be used in automotive engine.

**Q: What size for 2/0 cable?**
A: 2/0 gauge’s copper wire diameter is 0.365''. 3/8''=0.375''. So 3/8'' PET braided wire sleeve is ok to fit 2/0 gauge. BUT there are rubber wrap the copper wire. I don't know how thickness the rubber is. Could you please measure the whole diameter of 2/0 gauge wire? For example, If the whole diameter of 2/0 gauge wire is 1/2'', you should buy 1/2'' PET braided wire sleeve. If the whole diameter of 2/0 gauge wire is 3/4'', you should buy 3/4''.One more thing, Is it possible for you to separate the wires and connector plug? If not, Although our PET sleeve can expand up by 50% in diameter, you have to pay attention that if the PET sleeve can successfully go through the big connector plug

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Versatile sleeves, difficult to size

My new kitten is of the opinion that power cords are great chew toys, so I've gone through about 350ft of braided and split tubing to cover pretty much every exposed wire/cable in my house. Since I struggled to figure out the appropriate size of the braided tubing to buy for which cables, I wanted to leave a review with some standard items for reference. I started with 3/8", and that fit my laptop chargers (one Dell with a straight end and one HP with a small L end), GameCube controllers, TV power cords (the kind that unplug from the TV), and several other similar cords perfectly. It fit the more streamlined Metabridge HDMI cables like a glove (the only tricky part was getting it started over the plug), but was just a bit too small to go over the squared-off ends of the Amazon Basics HDMI and generic HDMI that came with my DirecTV setup. It probably would have fit those except it got jammed up in the gap between the metal plug and the bulky plastic casing so it was impossible to get started. It's too small for a standard wall outlet plug. I used 3/8" for my assorted device chargers (iPod, Kindle, Samsung phone, etc), but you would probably be safe getting 1/4" if that's the only thing you need to cover. I don't know what else you would use 1/4" for except if you have a cable with no connector on the end. It has to be tiny. To make sure I could cover some larger plugs, I ordered 3/4" next. That is HUGE compared to 3/8", expands much more for its width, and was total overkill for the few standard wall outlet plugs and Nintendo 64 controllers I used it for. For bulkier plugs like RCA cables, bigger wall plugs, and a power cords with accumulators, it was still a bit big, but that meant it was much easier to get started. If you don't mind the weird look of a huge flat ribbon over smaller cords, 3/4" should fit pretty much anything in your house. I'm saving the rest of that for whenever I get behind my larger TV and want to bundle its wiring together. Update: 1/2" does NOT fit standard wall outlet plugs. It would barely fit over the plugs on my N64 controllers. That size would be good for larger HDMI cables and the like, I'll have to stick with 3/4" for everything else. Random notes after having spent a week of my life kitten-proofing more cables than I knew existed in my house... Make sure you have a lighter and preferably needle nose pliers on hand. Run the lighter under the end right after you cut it, then use a pair of needle nose pliers, the closed end of your scissors, or something metal to push open the end while the plastic is still melty. (You don't have to go overboard melting it to keep it from fraying.) I'll echo a couple other reviews and say that, to make it easier to get started on big plugs, wedge a pair of needle nose pliers in the end as far as they'll go, then run your lighter around to melt the edges, let it cool, and it will stay open. I used zip-ties to hold the ends in place, and those pulled the widened end back together nicely. If you're not sure whether to get the split or braided sleeve, the first question to ask is if you need to fold up or tightly coil the cord. If yes, get braided. Split is great if you will frequently need to remove the sleeve or where you want the sleeve the same size as the cord without having to account for a plug, and much easier to bundle multiple cords together in, but split will start to come apart if you fold/bend it tightly. Braided is also a lot cheaper. Lastly, do NOT try to pull the sleeve to get it to move! PUSH the sleeve onto the cable, letting it expand and wad up to where you're holding the cord with your other hand, then let it expand down the cord. It should be pretty self-explanatory, but I'm sure there are YouTube videos if you need more help.
