I had also just bought a $1000 Charvel that took me nearly 3 hours to correct issues and set up. I didn't have to do anything to the Pacifica except change the strings to my preferred set. This guitar has been a joy to play. The locking tuners were hard to figure out at first, since the included instructions weren't very detailed. Once I figured out exactly how to use them, they are probably the quickest set of locking tuners on the market.
