Yes, it's a tent. The description says it has silver UV lining. Well, it does.... but the only parts that are silver UV lined are the underside of the floor, and the screen flap. That's all. The sides ARE NOT silver lined! I knew going in that this was a smaller tent, and it says that two people can fit. The only way two people (adults, average to small size) could fit is if they sit side by side of each other and. Ring their knees to a bent position. Also, this tent came shipped from Tonga, which is results in your package being labled "restricted" with the USPS. So if you're not home when it gets delivered, they'll take it back to the post office for you to come in and pick it up with a signature required. I paid extra for expedited shipping, and it still came late. It is not exceedingly well made, just average. I was excited about this before it came, but really disappointed about it not being silver lined 100%. If I were to give a recommendation, I would skip this one and go with a popup that is confirmed to be fully lined. The sun/UV does penetrate the nylon fabric, making it still hot inside. I'll probably use it, or let my 10yr old daughter play with it in the yard, but I'll most likely be buying a different one to actually use at the beach. Another thing... the inside has two pockets; one along each side on the bottom. While they are handy, there is not any sand pockets on the outside, only 6 loops for stakes.
